Questions about prices and surcharges


What is the minimum order value?

 The minimum order value is 100.00 EUR, based on the net price without metal surcharge. For orders below the minimum order value, we charge a surcharge of 10.00 EUR.


How high are the cutting costs?

 At HELU KABEL GmbH you can order cables according to your desired length. For this individual configuration we charge a fee (per cut) of 15.00 EUR  for outer diameters up to 25 mm, 35,00 EUR for outer diameters up to 35 mm and 55,00 EUR for outer diameters larger than 35 mm.

These costs do not apply to standard lengths and stock lengths.


What do the online prices listed in the online shop include?

The prices quoted are net prices EX WORKS, without packaging, without postage, without insurance, without customs clearance costs and without shipping costs and plus additional metal surcharges (please see below Q&As).


How are metal surcharges calculated for cables & wires?

For almost all cables and wires, the net price already includes a certain copper price component, the so-called copper base.

  • Standard cables and lines - copper basis = EUR 150/100 kg
  • Telecommunication cables and power underground cables - copper basis = EUR 100/100 kg or copper basis = EUR 0/100 kg. 

The sales price shall be increased or reduced by the difference between the metal price already included in the net price shown and the copper quotation. The copper figure shall be multiplied by the copper difference. Unless otherwise stated, the copper number shall apply to 1000 m.

The basis for calculating the sales price is the published upper copper metal quotation from the day before the order is received (metal quotation - current and past values on helukabel.de).

Calculation example:
JZ-500 8 x 0.75 mm², article no. 10040
Copper quotation: 500,- EUR/100 kg (assumed value)
Copper base: 150,- EUR/100 kg
Copper number: 58 kg/km
Copper surcharge: ((500,- + 5,-) -150,-) / 100 x 58 kg/km (calculated value 5,- = 1% of 500,-) = 205,90 EUR/km

Other metal surcharges (e.g. aluminium, nickel, lead) are handled analogously to the copper surcharge.

How are metal surcharges calculated for cable accessories?



The metal surcharges include a brass basis of EUR 150,- for 100 kg brass. The basis for calculating the sales price is the brass quotation (stock exchange publication for MS 58th processing stage 1) on the day after receipt of the order, plus the procurement costs. The selling price shall be increased or reduced by the difference between the brass basis and the brass quotation by adding or deducting 5% brass surcharge or discount for each full EUR 13/100 kg.

The prices include a copper basis of EUR 150,- for 100 kg copper. The basis for calculating the sales price is the published MK exchange quotation for copper from the day before the day of order entry. The sales price shall be increased or reduced by the difference between the copper basis and the MK quotation. The copper number shall be multiplied by the copper difference. The copper figure applies to 1000 pieces unless otherwise stated. All metal surcharges and discounts are always net.


Questions about online orders


How is the contract concluded between Helukabel and the purchaser?

The contract with HELU KABEL GmbH comes into effect upon receipt of the written order confirmation on the conditions stated in the order confirmation. The order confirmation is sent to the purchaser by e-mail after successful checkout.


Can I change my order subsequently?

It is not possible to change orders retrospectively.


Can I cancel my order?

The customer is not entitled to cancel the order. HELU KABEL GmbH can insist on acceptance of the ordered delivery items and payment of the full purchase price despite a cancellation by the purchaser.


Where can I view my orders online?

 Log in to your customer account in the online shop. Under the menu item "Orders" you can view your current and past online shop orders.

Can I have orders delivered abroad?

Orders are delivered to addresses within Germany or to addresses that are already saved in your customer account.


Can I save my shopping basket?

Shopping baskets remain saved for registered users. Simply create a free customer account in the online shop.


Can I save more than one shopping basket? 

Helukabel supports you in supplying different projects of your company with goods in the best possible way. You can save several shopping baskets in the Helukabel online shop, order them separately and have each delivered to an individual address if you wish.

How can I pay for my order in the Helukabel Online Shop?

The following payment options are available to you via our payment provider "PayPal Plus".

Can I place my order "on account"?

Payment "on account" is only available to existing customers after an appropriate credit check. New customers can only pay in advance. 


Questions about shipping and delivery


What are the shipping costs?

From a net order value of EUR 1000,00 (without metal surcharge, without VAT, without packaging costs), we deliver within Germany "carriage paid, without unloading, excluding packaging".

Even carriage forward shipments are made without unloading. For freight collect shipments in Germany, the following flat freight rates will be charged:

  •     Freight forwarding shipments over 31.5 kg EUR 0.60/kg.
  •     The costs for special shipments shall be borne by the customer.
  •     Parcels up to 31.5 kg EUR 15,00


How much are the packaging costs

HELU KABEL GmbH always charges (in addition to the drums) a flat packaging fee of EUR 10,00.

Shipping packaging will be charged or provided on loan. Grid boxes and Euro pallets will be delivered in exchange. One-way drums will be charged and cannot be taken back

HELU drums are provided on loan. Drums of size 1.00 m (10s) and larger are free of charge for the first 12 months. In the months 13 to 18 we charge rental fees. If there is no free registration (www.helukabel.de/kabeltrommel) by the end of the 18th month, the full drum price will be charged. HELU KABEL GmbH collects free HELU drums within Germany free of charge. The costs for the return transport are borne by HELU KABEL GmbH. In this case, HELU KABEL GmbH determines the carrier and the date of collection. The loading is taken over by the buyer. Unjustified costs in case of return transport not in accordance with instructions shall be borne by the initiator.

For deliveries outside Germany, HELU KABEL GmbH is entitled to charge reeling costs. There will be no return transport.


How long is the delivery time?

Questions about the customer account



Do I have to register my company in order to place an order?

An order can only be placed as a registered user. The creation of a customer account is free of charge. A customer account also offers other advantages such as saving one or more shopping baskets.


How can I create a customer account in the online shop?

Click on the person symbol in the header area of the online shop and follow the registration process. Activating the customer account may take a few working hours.


I have forgotten my password. What can I do?

Click on the link "Forgotten password" in the login window. You will then receive an e-mail to reset your password. You can access the login window by clicking on the person symbol.


My user data, addresses, etc. have changed. Where can I change my data?

To change your personal data, please contact your responsible consultant.


Can multiple users be added to one customer account?

Yes. To add multiple users to one customer account (customer number), it is only necessary that each user fills in and submits the registration form.

Alternatively, customers who want to access with a generic e-mail can register with an e-mail address such as purchase@, order@, ...
